A large, massive body of muscles padded it's way softly through the long grass. With each step her shoulder blades went up and down. She could feel the dry dusty ground beneath her paws and her claws easily slid out. Her pelt was a darker shade than most other lions and she had to keep herself well hidden in order to not be seen. She slowly neared the grazing zebras, making as little sound as she could. Her whole body was low, razed to the ground slowly creeping closer and closer waiting for the opportune moment to attack. The air was warm, and the effect of the heat of the sun hitting the dry dirt ground made a heat wave above it, making things all blurry. There was a soft wind making the grass, and the tree's rustle, and cooling down the dense heat ever so slightly. The zebra's were grazing calmly with the occasional lift of the head and the flicking of ears or tail to swat the flies away. Layla was ready. She had chosen her prey and was ready to have a go at him. With a smile on her maw she launched herself into the attack. The zebra's fled, and the poor one who realized too late, was her prey, and he soon came down once Layla's powerful jaw reached his throat and pulled him down. With the last kicks of mercy, the zebra gave up and died slowly, in the jaws of the fierce female. With satisfaction, and happiness written on her face, Layla made her way towards a rock under a tree, where she sat with her prey, ripping it slowly apart and savoring each of the tiny morsels of what once was a zebra.

The young lioness cub observed the larger lioness hunt. She chuckled to herself softly. She loved to watch things get killed. She lay crouched in the grass staring down the lioness who was enjoying the zebra in her jaws. She was different then the other females, her coat was darker. She crept silently up to her. You won't finish the whole thing... Her voice was starting to mature and her body growing. She was about two thirds of the size as the fae. Her coat was silently darker then her brother's and parents. She hates her brother. She hates the lioness who toke in her and is now her mother. She hates everything...

Her ears pricked at the sound of another creature nearing, and the grip around the prey she had just caught, tightened. Her nose picked up the scent of another lioness and she turned her head to stare blankly, and slightly angrily at the other fae.
" You won't finish the whole thing..." The maturing young voice of the female spoke to her, making her wrinkle her nose slightly. Who was this female to just tell her what she would or wouldn't do. "Who says I won't? And who are you?" She knew better than to just come up to some female who was feeding without first presenting herself. Layla knew that it was probably the females land but she didn't care, she was hungry and if this youngun was going to pester her, she'd have a rotten end.

Vitani stood up and walked towards the lioness, circling her and her prey. She smirked and replyed to the question indirectly. It doesn't matter who I am... She continued circling and staring down the older lioness. Her year old body was muscular and fit. She had learned to kill a prey before she was even three seasons old. Her brother on the other hand still did not know how to hunt the larger animals. He's such a wimp... Her brow darkened at the thought of her brother... she hated that lion, he was always so nice and friendly, what a loser...

Layla was at least expecting some answer, and one which wasn't telling her name made her get slightly irritated. "Well then, Scram this is mine." With that she got up and climbed up onto a higher rock, near a small pond. She continued to examen the female, noticing that she wasn't like many of the proud snobby females around, and Layla slightly thought that perhaps she could even accept to share with her, but she'd have to earn it.

The young lioness growled deep into her throat. No one, i mean NO ONE told her to scram. Her anger was building up. Her eyes flashing she advanced to the fae's new spot staring her down with her silver orbs. I don't want your stupid prey, if i wanted that i could go kill my own, i could kill you if i wanted. It's true, she would feel no mercy. She's killed other lions before, in fact she had killed all her younger siblings when they were born. She smirked just thinking about it. If only her older brother had not been bigger and stronger then her she would have killed him too.

Layla smirked, this is what she had wanted to hear mostly, the lioness's true side, but the way this one was acting was by far much like her, in a tomboyish fashion. She chucked the rest of the the carcass to the side and jumped down from the rock where she was perched. "You're Still here. What do you want anyway?"

A growl escaped from her maw. She gave the fae her famous dirty look. What did she mean by still being here. She could go wherever she wants and do whatever she wants. "I just wanted to piss you off and it worked, I succeeded." She smirked at the lioness and started to circle her. Eyes flashing and tail flickering she glared at the older fae. Speak you fool...

Ok so, perhaps she was being a little harsh to the lioness. I mean, she hadn't actually insulted her, but she was ticking her off and her nerves were running low. She yawned showing all her large sharp and recently bloody teeth. Her ears pricked slightly at the other lioness's growl and Layla smirked. Good, now she was starting to give Layla a reason to attack. Though, she wouldn't. Layla rolled her eyes at the lioness's dirty look, and then shook her head. Young, but still much to learn. The fae's look hadn't startled her one bit. Layla's round orbs followed the lioness as she circled around her. Did she not know anything? She sighed and outstretched her long strong legs once more. "Now why would YOU piss me off?"she cooed, and mentally made a note of finding a pride, she wanted to know who this fae was.

The young lioness started to laugh wickedly. She knew she was bugging this fae, even though she won't admit it. Because... I'm making you annoyed and that was my plan all along. She was starting to get bored now. This lioness wasn't really fun to hang around.
A medium sized male came into the picture. It was Lencho, he stared down at Vitani with hatred. He noticed another lioness not too far away with an angry expression on her face. He shook his half grown mane. She was probably trying to piss this lioness off. Vitani! What are you doing? Mom told me to come and find you. He growled under his breath at his sister. She was such a pain in the ass. He gave a look of sympathy to the lioness.
Vitani laughed again walked up to Lencho. He was much bigger then her, like usual. If he would have been smaller she would have killed him a long time ago. None of your business! Now leave me alone, tell mom I hate her and I do not want to be part of her stupid pride... She smirked and walked away. She was sick of this place.

Layla was the one to smirk this time. This poor fae needed some serious help, and she still lived with her mother. She giggled slightly at the thought. Here she was trying to sound all grown up and important when she needed her larger brother to look after her. She watched the scene with a slight humor, since it was amusing her. The fae, whose name she had come to discover was Vitani, was much like a little child who threw a tantrum. Yes she had much to learn of living by herself, or at least in another pride.
She watched her run off and now turned to look at the male. He was very handsome in many ways, but Layla was in no mood to fall in love or really get to know him much. She walked over towards him in a slightly alluring way, with a grin on her face. He looked more intelligent than hi sister and she wanted to see how much.
"Don't worry about her, she'll only get hurt and then come back. I don't believe i caught your name?" She smiled warmly almost but there was a mysterious air about her.

Just a note lol lions live with their mom until the age of two haha ____________________
He focused his attention on the lioness in front of him. He smiled kindly and dipped his head in respect. My name is Lencho He doubted his sister would come back though. She has always been a tough lioness, always trying to cause trouble and been trying to get away from the pride ever since she taught herself to kill larger prey. Which was only when she was two seasons of age. But he was her older brother and he only wished she would be a normal sister. His hatred started for her the moment their mother died. She had killed all their younger siblings. Thank goodness she had not killed his adoptive mother's cubs. He loved his little adoptive siblings. He watched out for them and protected them. He sighed, he had a lot on his mind. His father left them all alone now and some other male had come to claim the territory, things were changing and he did not like it. If only he would have been a bit older he could have been heir to the throne. He sighed once more and realized his mind had been drifting off. He faced the lioness once more and gave a look of apology. I'm so sorry about her... What is your name?

Lencho his name rung in her mind, and she smiled at him. She'd never met a male so polite and gentle. Though as she continued to stare at him and exam him through his amber eyes, she couldn't help but notice that he was distant, and slightly stressed. She felt sorry for him, and when he asked her name, she could picture them being friends at least.
"Layla." She mumbled, but not in a shy way, just in a distant mode. She was thinking about the heat that the sun was having on her slightly dark coat as it hit her beating her down. She looked around and then remembered where she sat before under the tree in the shade. As she turned to look back at him with a slightly tiresome smile she asked if he wanted to join her in the shade. "I know it's hot, want to go into the shade a bit, just over there?" She moved her head to indicate the direction where they could sit under the shade, hoping that he'd say yes so that they could get to know each other better.

The young brute smiled when she told him her name. It was a pretty name. Its a beautiful name. He smiled again, he was always taught to be polite to others and to respect lionesses. He always was taught to always obey his elders.
He glanced in the direction of the shade. It waas so tempting to lay there and rest for a bit. Beads of sweat were running down his neck from the heat and searching for his sister. But he just did not have the time. I'm sorry, I wish I could but I have to get back to my pride. He paused. There was a lot he had to go do at the Island, his mother needed him to watch the cubs while she dealt with the unexpected stranger lurking their territory. Feel free to come visit anytime though. I live out on Guylian's Island. He didn't really know what else to say since he was after all still a cub but perhaps she would get along with his mother. His mother was well respected in the pridelands. He hoped to take after her, everyone knowing and respecting him. He waited for Layla to respond before he toke off, it was just much nicer of him to do...

Layla smiled warmly at him. It wasn't every day that she met a young lion, and one so well mannered. It made her think that there was still hope for the younger generations. She listened to his words intently and sighed slightly from the heat. Though he had declined her offer she was still happy to have met such a sweet young gentleman. Perhaps if he were older they could have been mates, but for now just friends. Besides for now she could just look out for him.
Feel free to come visit anytime though. I live out on Guylian's Island. There's a pride that she could join. At least there she would be able to keep an eye on Lencho. She beamed at him. "I'll keep that in mind. Perhaps one of these days i'll pass by." With that Layla lowered her head and turned to walk to the shady spot she had seen before leaving Lencho to go back to his pride and look after the cubs.
